The All Blacks did a sublime job of keeping us contained and especially so in the later stages of the game. Conversely, you could simply see in our body language that, in the most important game in four years, we still didn’t have any kind of plan that could spark an impetus on attack. The Bok backlash was terrible and so turned out to be what we all had hoped for. JP Petersen got it going for us early by scoring what could be seen as a fourteen point try, given that Samoa looked very threatening during their move until the tall frame of Petersen snatched the ball from the air and left his defenders in the dust. He went on to finish two more tries, both of which were well worked team tries.
