FAB(ulous)LET

Lenovo yoga tab pro review

So we all know the Phablet (Phone that is bigger than 5.5 inches) and how it is now eating into the Tablet market – Apple is definitely feeling the pinch and loss of sales in their tablets, so much so they have gone the other extreme with the new iPad Pro being 12 inches – guess they going to start upsetting sales in their new Macbook range, but this is not about Apple.

X Touch P-Phone - did someone say Feature Phone?

X Touch P-Phone Review

Yes I did! In a world of latest gadgets being the desire of all and although it is really cool for a technophile like me, there is something about going back to basics, but staying current too. Ok so stop the waffling – what am I talking about? The new X Touch P-Phone that’s what.

So, why I am so impressed with a feature phone? It’s because the innovation that’s packed into this little guy is really impressive.

Gadget review – AAXA P3x Pico Projector

P3x Pico Projector review | Mini projector | SA Men

Is that something in your pocket?

Why yes it is and you will be pleased to see me!

With the Rugby World Cup alive and kicking, TV sales are probably increasing and big is best! So, what do you do to be bigger, bolder and more enviable? You get something small and powerful.

I am talking about the AAXA P3x Pico projector. It is not that I haven’t seen portable projection technology before, it’s that I haven’t seen it so well thought out and easy to use before.

Let there be light

Mobiya | energy alternative | SA Men

So we have to accept the fact that our electricity utility, namely Eskom, has now literally left us in the dark. We can sit and moan, light candles, cry, toyi-toyi or make a plan.

A lot of people have looked at generators, invertors or solar and there are pros and cons to both. The challenge for many is affordability of one of the above as well as permission to install one, especially if you live in a complex or rent a unit or flat.

Viva españa - MWC 2015

Htc re for wmc article brett

For someone who loves mobile phones and all things related to them, you have to appreciate that going to Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona is even better than a ten year old walking into Disney World for the first time. MWC is the biggest trade show in the world relating to mobility and happens every year. For the last few years it has been in Barcelona and most recently at the new incredible Fira Gran Via. This facility is 2.5km long and was home to over 1900 exhibitors for the four days! Think of it as porn for technophiles! And it was.

Blackberry W.T.F

BlackBerry Passport review

No, that’s not what I meant, it stands for – Wow That’s Functional and this device certainly is. So we have all loved and hated BlackBerry for various reasons and that is not something I’m going to get into now. What I am going to say is that to my surprise, I am impressed. The market’s sentiment is that as well as BlackBerry actually showed a profit Q4 of 2014, which I can only assume is because of this somewhat strange, yet appealing device.

Do you know what time it is?

SA Men review | Sony SmartWatch 3

You may have read my article a few months ago about the Sony SmartBand – if you didn’t here it is.  So the question is “Am I still wearing it or was it just a fad?” I am pleased to say that not only am I still wearing it but I have also used the data to make a few changes to lifestyle thanks to the data from the Lifelog app on my phone.

Did you just pass gas?

Sodastream Revolution

Sodastream Revolution I used to (and still do) love reading MAD magazine and specifically the work of Don Martin. The sound effects that he illustrated were so pronounced you couldn’t help yourself to say the sounds out loud. One specific sound was Pfzzzzzt – come on say it you know you want to, Pfzzzzzt. So paging through an old issue I came across this sound and in such had some nostalgic thoughts the same being the culmination for today’s review; the Sodastream Revolution. So why have I chosen a drink making machine for a tech overview.

iOS 8 - Is it worth it?

iOS 8 update article

iOS 8 is the latest mobile software version of Apple’s operating system for handheld devices, and was released on the 17th of September 2014. It is compatible with and available for the iPad 2 and subsequent releases of the iPad (including the iPad Air and iPad Mini), the latest iPod touch, the iPhones 4S, 5, 5C 5S, and the new iPhones 6 and 6 Plus have iOS 8 preinstalled. While a lot of people have complained about the size of the update, you should not have too big a problem if you have already installed all prior updates and have a Wi-Fi connection.

Hero, or Ghost? Capture the Action Your Way!

Samen banner

How often have you been belting along through the bush on your bike, or riding the wave of a lifetime with no one around to share the awesome experience with you? Years ago we all thought, man, imagine we could capture this action on video in just the same way that I am experiencing it right now. With the modern day action cameras it’s possible to document the action first-hand so that you can show off to your buddies later, impress the girl of your dreams, or simply relive the moment over and over again.
